If you want to take the temperature of the global economy, try central London in October of each year. Thousands of miners, traders and producers will be in town for LME Week, the largest annual gathering of the metals industry, and an unrivalled barometer of business confidence. Representatives from the entire supply chain meet to discuss current trends in metals markets, what to expect for the year ahead, and to network with industry peers and colleagues. LME Week 2021 runs this year from Monday 11 October - Friday 15 October. The week is often an excellent barometer of market sentiment and can frequently set the tone for prices for the balance of the year. This time last year, copper and nickel were predicted to shine and out-perform the other metals in terms of price performance. The laggards were predicted to be aluminium, lead and zinc.
